ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Minister for Law and Justice Barrister Dr Farogh Naseem on Tuesday gave the green light to Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for a membership in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Reportedly, responding to a letter, Naseem has provided a legal opinion on the matter and stated that any minister of the parliament can become a member of the PAC.

“Therefore, there is no restriction on Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for becoming PAC’s member,” the letter mentioned.

Yesterday, Rasheed wrote a letter to Naseem, seeking his legal opinion on whether or not he could become PAC’s permanent member while being a federal minister.

The railways minister had been PAC’s member many times in the past.
