PM Imran, prominent personalities greet nation on New Year
PM pledged to wage jihad against ills of country: poverty, illiteracy, injustice and corruption.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday has wished happy New Year to the nation and hoped for the betterment of the country in 2019.
In a tweet, PM Imran pledged to wage ‘jihad’ against four ills of the country: poverty, illiteracy, injustice and corruption.
2019 is the beginning of Pakistan’s golden era, he expressed.

Similarly, Director General ISPR Maj. Gen. Asif Ghafoor said in his tweet: “In our national pursuit for a peaceful, prosperous & vibrant Pakistan, 2019 is year of progress. United we shall consolidate our successes, IA. May Allah continues His blessings upon us. Amen. Salute to resilient Pakistanis & Martyrs.”
DG ISPR further paid a tribute to resilient Pakistani nation and martyrs for their struggle for a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari also felicitated the people of Pakistan on the beginning of New Year.

Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Usman Buzdar said that New Year will emerge as a harbinger of bright future for the people of Pakistan. He said that our commitment is taller than the challenges and 2019 will bring a ray of hope for the Pakistani nation.
