Pakistani American Youth Organization put forward resolution in the City Council in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (Dunya News) – The Pakistani American Youth Organization’s (PAYO), which has been working for an official acknowledgement of the neighborhood’s cultural tradition in Coney Island in Brooklyn in New York City (NYC), has achieved a remarkable success as the intersection of Coney Island and Foster avenues has been co-named after the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.



Reportedly, the resolution filed by two Pakistani nationals has been passed in the City Council with the majority of the votes.



Meanwhile, PAYO’s president Wakeel Ahmad addressed a press conference in NYC, where he expressed joy that the resolution was passed on the birth anniversary of Jinnah.

He termed it ‘a gift on his anniversary’.



The inauguration ceremony, in this regard, is expected to be organized next month.

Besides, PAYO members Jawad Shabbir, Hamayun Aziz, Adeel Rana and Zegum Abbas were also present on the occasion when a birthday cake of Jinnah was cut.
