Sanam Bhutto is expected to lead the protest movement in case of Asif Zardaris arrest
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) on Wednesday decided to launch a countrywide protest movement in case of the arrest of former president and party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
The decision was taken in an important meeting of the party leadership with PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in chair.
During the meeting, the PPP decided to give tough time to the government in case of the arrest of the former president.
Sources said that the party’s senior leaders have also proposed to move no-confidence motion against the government.
The meeting also decided to hold consultation with other political parties in this regard.
“The matter pertaining to moving no-confidence motion against the government is likely to be included in the agenda of party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting, while the option of fielding late former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s sister Sanam Bhutto is also under consideration,” sources added.
“Sanam Bhutto is present in Pakistan,” sources said and added she would lead the protest movement in case of Asif Zardari’s arrest.
