LDA suo motu case: SC orders to place Khokhar brothers' names on ECL
A two-member bench, headed by CJP Saqib Nisar is hearing the case at Lahore Registry.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – While hearing the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) city suo motu case, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed to place names of Khokhar brothers on Exit Control List (ECL).
A two-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, at the Lahore registry heard the case against as many as 22 encroachments on land owned by LDA in different parts of Lahore.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member National Assembly (MNA) Afzal Khokhar and his brother Saiful Malook Khokhar also appeared in the court today.
The apex court has ordered Khokhar brothers to submit details of assets owned by them and other family members. The Supreme Court has also directed to organise open courts against alleged illegal encroachments by Khokhar brothers.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that land developers were threatening residents in the Township area and a number of complaints were received in this regard.
