Persistent gas crisis swings PPP into action

PPP has threatened to stage sit-in in case of their demand for gas supply was not fulfilled.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Gas and CNG crisis that has gripped Karachi, has entered fifth day today (Friday).

On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has threatened to stage sit-in wit traders and CNG association, in case of their demand for gas supply was not fulfilled.

Earlier, on Thursday, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) had assured the resumption of the CNG supply within 24 hours.

Amid severe gas crisis, the authorities had announced to resume the gas supply after which the liquefied natural (LNG) terminals had started working providing 300mmfcd gas, however, the remaining 300mmfcd gas supply was to be resumed within 24 hours.

LNG terminals were requiring 48 hours for maintenance of supply, but it has not resumed yet. However, SSNGC has requested to authorities to make gas supply possible soon.
