Police baton-charge Port Qasim workers for trying to stage sit-in outside Governor House

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police on Sunday baton-charged the Port Qasim Authority employees to stop them from reaching Governor House, where Prime Minister Imran Khan was staying.

Police baton-charged and apprehended at least 12 protesting workers after they started march towards Governor House and tried stage a sit-in.

Police also used water cannon to disperse the agitating protesters, while some received injuries.

It is pertinent here to mention that Port Qasim’s workers had been protesting for the last two months against non-payment of their salaries.

The protestors have been demanding that Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa take notice of their situation and resolve their issues.
