I had four meetings with PM Khan, said Rashid.

(Dunya News) - Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid’s statement pertaining to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry caused a stir in the political scenario on Saturday.

Rashid can be heard saying that he had four meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan a day before. He claimed that the premier had asked him to join the information ministry.

“I am burning mid night oil for railways; I have no more strength. I return home at 1am,” said Rashid.

Referring to Fawad Chaudhry who is currently on London tour, Rashid asserted, “He has been enjoying picnic in London for eight days. They have asked him to return.”

During the press conference, a journalist asked him, "What will you do if asked by PM to change ministry." "Love you. Thank you very much," responded Rashid.

Responding to the statement, Fawad Chaudhry maintained that he will be more than happy to vacate his position for Sheikh Rashid and serve as MNA.

After the news aired on media, Rashid clarified his stance saying that Fawad Chaudhry is like his brother and he can never think of taking his position. He maintained that the picnic statement was said on a lighter note.

On the other hand, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Media Iftikhar Durrani said that Rashid and Chaudhry both are on good terms and the premier is satisfied with their performances.

“The result of their performance will be coming this Monday,” he told.

Special assistant to the PM Naeemul Haq declared that Fawad Chaudhry will remain Information Minister. “The performance of any minister cannot be decided in three months,” he said.
