ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated on Friday that no issue is impossible to solve between India and Pakistan.
Speaking to Indian journalists in Islamabad, the premier stressed that Pakistan wishes to maintain peace and is asking for taking a step forward from the very first day.
“After Mumbai attacks, Indo-Pak relations were dented but India has not changed its mindset till date. Only peace is the way to move forward. Two nuclear powers cannot afford war. We will take two steps if India takes one,” said Khan.
Responding to a question, PM Imran said that Kashmir dispute can be resolved between both the countries. “We will try to solve it through dialogue. It is my faith that nothing is impossible,” he asserted.
“Sikh community demanded to open Kartarpur corridor. They are delighted over the decision. The happiness Muslims face while going to Medina, Sikhs are in the same way blissful over the opening. The India that I know is also lauding the effort,” pronounced Khan.
“Any government’s priority is the poor. France and Germany underwent development after conducting trade. Our region is that part of the world which can achieve a lot while remaining peaceful,” he emphasized.
Answering a query, PM Khan maintained that whenever he gave interviews to Indian channels, the communication get stuck to the past experiences between India and Pakistan.
“Past is not for living but to learn lessons,” he repeated.
“No terrorism activity in the region is in the benefit of Pakistan. We have suffered great loss in war against terrorism. We are fencing the border to restrict movement of terrorists,” explained the PM.
“I am very disappointed over India’s response to our friendship gesture. How will the matters resolve if negotiations are not held?” he asked.
The prime minister made it evident that great gestures should not be one-sided. “India should also provide some positive response. It should not be always us,” he said.
“I am not responsible for the past. I will only be answerable for the present,” declared the premier.
