Akhtar Malik will brief provincial cabinet on financial irregularities in power projects.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab government on Wednesday decided to conduct forensic audit of Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Project.

As per details garnered, Punjab minister for energy Akhtar Malik will brief provincial cabinet on financial irregularities in power projects launched during tenure of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif, then chief minister of Punjab.

Sources privy to Punjab government told our correspondent that Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Project had inflicted mammoth loss on the national exchequer.

It would be suffice here to say that analysts have raised objections over cost of the project and electricity being produced in the solar park

The first unit of the project was inaugurated by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Bahawalpur and had been completed at a cost of Rs 11 billion.
