SC issued notices to Advocate General and Prosecutor General Punjab in Model Town incident case.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Friday issued notices to Advocate General (AG) and Prosecutor General (PG) Punjab regarding summon of Sharif brothers in Model Town incident case.

A three-member bench, headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmed, conducted hearing of the case. Justice Gulzar Ahmed, during the hearing, remarked that earlier two judges of the High Court had recommended completion of trial whereas the third judge had advised for re investigation of the incident.

It was also mentioned in the ruling that a separate case can be preceded if the investigation gathers sufficient proofs against political leaders.

Awami Tehreek lawyer took stance, during the hearing, that proofs were available against former primer Nawaz, former chief minister Shehbaz and Rana Sanaullah. The court was informed that absence of former IG Mushtaq Sukheera causes delay in trial.

The party, however, had requested summing 12 political leaders. The trial court, however, had rejected request regarding summoning of political leaders. The court adjourned the case till indefinite period.
