Children's death: No food poisoning complaint received by other 300 restaurant customers

The statement of kids mother will help to reach the cause of food poisoning.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The mystery of two children deaths of same family after consuming unhygienic food at a local restaurant in Zamzama area still remain unresolved.

Police officer disclosed that at least three hundred people consumed the food that day but no food poisoning complaint was filed.

The investigation officer said that three suspects have been arrested and further investigation is underway. 

The officer added that statement of kids’ mother will help to reach the cause of deaths but she is in critical condition and still under treatment.

The tragic incident of children s death was reported in Karachi on Sunday. The two children were five and one-year-old. 

Earlier, SSP South Peer Muhammad Shah had reported that a woman and her two children had eaten substandard food and the family latter bought candies from a stall at a children’s playland in Defence Phase-IV four area.

The three fell ill in wee hours of Sunday and were rushed to hospital at around 12 noon where children expired.

Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah and Sindh IG had taken notice of the incident. A report has also been summoned.

Meanwhile, Sindh Food Authority (SFA) Director had submitted initial report to Sindh CM stating that 12 samples have been collected through the hotel. The report had disclosed that a notice was served to the restaurant urging management to improve the standard and quality of the food.
