Major power breakdown hits Karachi
Karachiites are suffering the fifth power breakdown within the last two months.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Karachi on Monday suffered a major power breakdown that left vast areas of the city in darkness.
According to details, 80 percent of the city experienced a blackout. The areas affected include Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Bahadurabad, PECHS, Mehmoodabad, Sadar, Super Highway, Sohrab Goth, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Guddap, Ancholi and surrounding areas.
This time round K-Electric saved their grace by issuing the same old statement. The spokesperson maintained that Bin Qasim power plant went out of order and tripped the high tension line.

The 500 kV transmission line connecting KE to the National Grid has tripped. This has had a rollover effect on Karachi s electric supply due to which various parts of the city are experiencing an Outage.
Moreover, power supply from the national grid has also been disconnected. He claimed that efforts are underway to restore electricity in the metropolis.
The city’s power supplier said that electricity had already been restored in some areas of the city and added that the situation would "improve significantly" over the next few hours.

Partial supply from national grid has resumed and restoration of power supply to affected areas is progressing swiftly. Supply to parts of Korangi, Garden, Jacobline, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulshan, Defense, Gizri and Landhi has started.

Partial supply from national grid has resumed & power to all affected grid stations has been restored. Teams are already mobilized to ensure feeders associated with the grids are brought online and power is restored to routine in the city.
It is pertinent to mention here that Karachiites are suffering the fifth power breakdown within the last two months.
The blackouts are a grim reminder for Karachiites who suffered major and frequent power breakdowns last year during summer.
