KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party-led (PPP) Sindh govt is mulling over producing electricity from dumped garbage and waste water.

As per details garnered, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) presided over a session of provincial cabinet here in Karachi today.

Shah—whose party has been in power in Sindh since 2007—told attendants they have to find solution to decades-old issues of water shortage and proper dumping of garbage.

“Every day, waste management company picks 17000 tonnes of garbage [from metropolis]. We can establish five biogas power plants to generate 50MW of electricity”, Shah was quoted as saying.

Despite being in power for 11 consecutive years, PPP-led Sindh govt has utterly failed in solving out issues of garbage and shortage of water.
