JIT was unwilling to send questionnaire to Qatari prince: Wajid Zia
Zia said the JIT had asked Qatari prince Hammad bin Jasim to appear before the team.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Panamagate joint investigation team head Wajid Zia Monday said the JIT in its letter dated May 13, 2017 had asked Qatari prince Hammad bin Jasim to appear before the team and give his statement in graft cases against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
During his cross-exmanation by Khawaja Harris, Zia said the Qatari prince in his reply asked the JIT to provide its questionnaire and reach Doha in order to record the statement.
The Qatari prince in his reply excused himself from arriving in Pakistan and later showed conditional willingness, he said, adding that the JIT was unwilling to send its questionnaire to Jasim.
Harris on his part decided against submitting a formal application seeking explanation from Fawad Chaudhry on his statement that Nawaz Sharif should be in graft cases.
