JUI-F chief rejects CAA clarification on news regarding Israeli plane's landing in Pakistan
CAA had dismissed rumours of arrival of an Israeli aircraft in Islamabad
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday while rejecting the Civil Aviation Authority’s clarification claimed that the Israel plane landed in Islamabad after changing its code and name.
Talking to media in Lahore on Saturday, he said that the news reports regarding Israeli plane have spread concern among the nation.
The JUI-F chief said that they reject the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) denial and said that a campaign would be started to inform the nation about this.
Earlier, the CAA had dismissed rumours of arrival of an Israeli aircraft in Islamabad.
The Government of Pakistan (GOP) on its official handle, tweeted the press release of CAA and wrote: “Civil Aviation Authority has categorically rejected any news regarding landing of Israeli Plane in Pakistan.”
CAA in its press release stated that there is no truth in reports of Israeli jet landing in Pakistan because no such aircraft landed at any airport of the country.
On Thursday, an Israeli journalist claimed that an aircraft from Tel Aviv has flown to Islamabad, a claim that sparked outrage on social media. There were also reports that the aircraft carrying a high-profile person stayed in Islamabad for ten hours.
Avi Scharf, editor of Israeli newspaper Haretz, made the claims, further alleging that the pilot could trick and make it appear as a Amman-Islamabad flight rather than a Tel Aviv-Islamabad one.
According to BBC the plane was not registered in Israel and it actually flew from Amman.
