PPP concerned over govt decision to issue NAB official passports
PPP leader Nayyar Bukhari said NAB's independent role is already suspicious.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has expressed its reservations on government’s decision to provide official passports to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officers.
PPP leader Nayyar Bukhari said issuing official passports to NAB personnel tantamounts to bribing government officers, adding that such a move raises many questions.
He said NAB’s independent role is already suspicious and questioned as to why the cases against government officials are not being investigated. He added that the prime minister has drastically changed his stance on NAB.
Bukhari said the anti-graft watchdog still has to prove that it is not engaged in political victmisation but carrying out a transparent and indiscriminatory accountability process.
