Islamabad: Fire at PID building extinguished
The employees in large number are stranded inside the building
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Fire that broke out at the Press Information Department (PID) building near Zero Point in Islamabad has been extinguished.
According to details, the employees of the department were safely evacuated from the building while the cooling process is underway at the location.
Several fire tenders participated in the rescue operation.
In a statement, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that a committee has been formed to probe the incident and that timely operation prevented loss of lives and record. The office is being shifted from the building, he added.
Meanwhile, Information Secretary Shafqat Jalil said it will be too early to predict about the cause of fire and the damage done by it.
