Summary The Young Doctors Association (YDA) resumed duties after having talks with the Punjab government.

The young doctors resumed their duties on Thursday in the emergency wards of the hospitals in Lahore and Multan where senior doctors welcomed them and the patients also heaved a sigh of relief.The patients in Mayo Hospital and Services Hospital in Lahore appreciated the doctors’ decision and expressed their best wishes for them. The emergency wards of the Children Complex and the Nishtar Hospital in Multan were opened as the young doctors resumed their duties at 8am. The patients also appreciated Dunya News’ mediatory role it played to break the deadlock between the government and the doctors. The YDA representatives said that they resumed the duties in emergency wards because they did not want to increase the miseries of the patients. The doctors, who were appointed in the emergencies from the basic health centres, returned to their departments.
