Summary Director FIA General Waseem Ahmed has been dismissed from his post, Malik Iqbal assumes as FIA DG.
The Establishment Division has issued a new notification for appointment of Malik Muhammad Iqbal as new FIA DG. The Supreme Court has remarked about Waseem Ahmed in the Hajj corruption scandal that he spoiled the whole case and, being a contract official, he could not hold independent investigations.The SC said that Waseem’s appointment had violated the Civil Service Act and he should be dismissed. Previously, Malik Iqbal was serving as Balochistn Inspector General of Police.
