Kakar demanded to quash results of rigged polls and hold new transparent elections.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Joint opposition sans Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) staged sit-in on Shahrah-e-Dastoor [Constitution Avenue] to protest arrest of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif.

As per details garnered, former speaker of National Assembly (NA) Ayaz Sadiq presided over the symbolic session.

Addressing the participants, PML-N’s senator Usman Kakar termed arrest of Shehbaz Sharif illegal and demanded resignation of chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

“A verdict was announced against Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz before general elections 2018. The battle is being fought between democratic and undemocratic forces”, Kakar told participants.

Keeping verbal onslaught up, Kakar demanded to quash results of ‘rigged polls’ and hold new transparent elections.

NAB) had arrested Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme scam on Oct 5. The former chief minister was charged with awarding illegal contracts to his favorite firm.

Shehbaz was apprehended during his appearance before NAB in Saaf Pani Company scam. Sources told that three files were tabled before him.
