Nawaz contacts Interior Ministry seeking to remove his name from ECL
The trio had submitted a formal request to the effect to the ministry on October 4.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday has contacted Interior Ministry and repeated the request to exclude his own name in addition to daughter Maryam, Son-in-law Cap (R) Safdar from Exit Control List (ECL).
Earlier, the trio had submitted a formal request to the effect to the ministry on Oct 4 which was not entertained till date.
It be reminded that Nawaz, Maryam, Safdar had been placed on ECL following their conviction in Avenfield Reference from NAB court which handed down jail terms to them. However, their sentences were suspended on their plea by Islamabad High Court and they have been released till final decision of the case.
