Punjab govt makes primary schooling mandatory

Parents who do not send their children to school will not be able to avail insurance and BISP cards.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has made it mandatory for parents to enroll their children in primary schools.

The government has issued a set of isntructions to ensure that parents get their children through primary level of education.

According to government orders, parents who do not send their children to schools will not be able to avail insurance card with a limit of Rs300,000 per annum.

The government has also issued the same eligibility criteria for holders of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) card.

Officials concerned have decided to table a bill in the Punjab Assembly after the provincial budget session.
