Pakistan reaffirms its support to CICA
Shah Mehmood Qureshi congratulated Tajikistan for assuming the chairmanship of the CICA.
UNITED NATIONS (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi attended a special ministerial meeting of the Conference of Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA) in New York on Monday.
During his remarks, Shah Mehmood Qureshi congratulated Tajikistan for assuming the chairmanship of the organization and commended China, its predecessor, for its leadership and giving vitality to the CICA. He also welcomed Sri Lanka to the CICA fraternity as a full member.
The foreign minister said the diversity, potential and the challenges that the Asian region faces, had great relevance to CICA. He said that Pakistan would continue to participate actively and work with the CICA members for constructive engagement.
