PM directs to form JIT to probe LDA plaza fire incident

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has on Sunday taken notice of mysterious fire incident at LDA plaza in which seven people were killed while invaluable real estate records were burnt to ashes.

As per details garnered, PM presided over huddle of Punjab Cabinet here in provincial capital today.

PM has directed Punjab govt to constitute joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the incident whereas he has also issued orders in this regard.

PM also barred provincial ministers from taking weekly holidays. He said, “We have to unveil massive corruption of the previous governments. We will conduct forensic audit of all mega-projects”.

PM also directed officials concerned to finalize draft of new local bodies system in the next 48 hours. He said, “Real change will only come by sharing power to the grass-roots level”.

LDA plaza—located on Egerton road—caught horrific blaze back then in 2013 killing seven while turning important real state and mega-project’s record to ashes. The fire had erupted at around 11AM forcing dwellers to flee. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had also taken notice of the incident.
