Negative aspects of social media: fraudsters caught from Karachi
Social media platforms especially Facebook have been benefiting scammers for years.
(Web Desk) – Although social media has numerous benefits for the common men in Pakistan, it does contain negative aspects too which are usually ignored. As its audience majorly is consisted of young people, emotions are always high. Miracles are expected to happen. Facebook especially has young consumers who are easy to fall victim to the fraudsters wandering on this social media platform.

In Pakistan unfortunately, social media has become a weapon for swindlers. Shah Mir Khan in his report reveals a recent fraud. The fraudsters lured a prospective MBBS student, promising her to have her admitted in a medical college, and looted hundreds of thousands of rupees.
The affected student was of the view that she had been trying hard to take admission for MBBS but all in vain. After failure, she got entangled by the fraudster on Facebook.
The student had filed complaint in Shah Faisal Police Station, for which police took action and culprits Mubeen and Mansoor were caught from Defence.

Part of a long trail of frauds on social media
It is one of a long list of frauds which have been surfacing since the use of Facebook. Government institutions dealing with cybercrimes like FIA are required to take stern actions against the fraudsters so that it could become a safer and securer platform to use.
