SC directs to devise strategy for Dar's extradition within a week

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court on Tuesday directed all relevant departments to devise strategy for the extradition of Ishaq Dar within a week.

Additional Attorney General told court that Dar’s diplomatic and simple passport has been cancelled while he possess no travel documents.

“The interior ministry has also blacklisted Dar. However; ways to extradite him are still present,” he added.

In a conversation with Attorney General Anwar Mansoor, the CJP remarked, “You must have the knowledge that Ishaq Dar has been declared absconder by National accountability Bureau. Is the state still unable to bring Ishaq Dar back to Pakistan?”

The Attorney General told that Pakistan has no agreement with the UK Government regarding transfer of suspects therefore; the matter has to be referred to the country’s courts.

“Consultation with relevant department over the issue is in progress,” he said.

NAB prosecutor general maintained that the properties of Dar have been identified and action is underway to attach them with the case.

The court directed the relevant department to continue efforts and devise procedure within a week for Dar’s extradition. The hearing of the case was adjourned until one week.
