Government has full support of army to hold talks with India: Fawad

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that the government has full support of army to hold talks with India, however; no positive response has yet been received from New Delhi.
In an interview with British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Fawad maintained that both the government and military of Pakistan wish to negotiate with India for peace in the region.
He stressed that Imran Khan gave several indications about talks but no positive feedback has been received.
Responding to a question, the information minister said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) policy pertaining to India is entirely different from the one adopted by the previous government.
“In our policy, all the institutions are on the same page and share the same mindset. This is not the foreign policy of Nawaz Sharif but of Pakistan,” he added.
Fawad Chaudhry asserted that the government and institutions stand shoulder to shoulder with each other.
“Both Imran Khan and General Bajwa understand that not only the country but the entire region makes progress. The Prime Minister is aware that the solution to Afghan issue is not military but political,” said Fawad.
The Kartarpur border for Sikh pilgrims will be opened soon, he announced.
The information minister also told that the demand for the formation of parliamentary commission over the accusations of rigging in General Elections 2018 will be fulfilled before long.
