Final list of candidates for presidential election issued
The presidential election will be held on September.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The final list of candidates, participating in presidential election has been issued after none of them withdrew their nomination papers.
These candidates include Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Dr. Arif Alvi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) backed Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
PML-N’s Amir Muqam, covering candidate of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, withdrew his nomination papers today.
Earlier, PTI’s nominee for the office of president Dr.Arif Alvi Monday said that PTI will win the presidential election with majority and urged the opposition to withdraw the candidate in his favour.
Dr. Arif pointed out that candidates of other parties could have shown a positive gesture by withdrawing in favour of PTI’s candidate but they did not.
Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) had also expressed its reservations over support for PTI candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
The voting for presidential election willbe held on September 4 at 10am.
