Opposition accelerate efforts to field joint candidate in presidential election
The PPP will try to convice other parties over its candidate for the top slot
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Grand opposition s on Friday accelerated contacts to field joint candidate in the presidential election for the slot Pakistan s president.
An All Parties Conference (APC) would be held in Murree tomorrow with former Punjab CM and Pakistan Muslin League (PML-N) president Shehbaz sharif in chair.
The multiparty conference will be held at Shehbaz Sharif s dwelling in Murree in which all other political parties including PML-N, Pakistan Peoples party (PPP), MMA will participate to field a combined presidential candidate.
The PPP will try to convice other parties over its candidate for the top slot.
A consultative meeting of the PPP chaired by Khurshid Shah was held today which was attended by Mian Raza Rabbani, Aitzaz Ahsan, Sherry Rehman, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Chaudhry Manzoor.
The former opposition leader had a telephonic conversation with Molana Fazulur Rehman, Hasil Bazinjo and Mahmood khan achakzai.
On the other hand, PML-N leader Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq has also accelerated efforts to bring his party’s candidate for head of state slot. He telephoned Molana Fazulur Rehman, Asfandyar Wali, Khursheed Shah and many others for support.
The names of Sartaj Aziz, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Abdul Qadir Baloch are being considered for the top slot.
However, Pervaiz Rashid s said that Aitzaz Ahsam must apology to Nawaz Sharif for his remarks about the former prime minister, who are imprisoned for 11 years in Avenfield Reference, are ridicules nad non-serious.
Besides all these, PML-N will hold a consultative conclave before all parties conference in Murre.
