Nawaz Sharif appears before court in Al-Azizia, Flagship Investment references

Stringent security was ensured as Sharif was taken to the NAB court in armored vehicle

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Incarcerated former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court on Wednesday in Al-Azizia Steel Mill and Flagship Investment references.

According to details, NAB court judge Arshad Malik heard the case instead of Muhammad Bashir after Islamabad High Court (IHC) two-member bench approved Nawaz Sharif’s plea for transferring the references to other court.

On the occasion, stringent security was ensured as Sharif was taken to the NAB court amid deployment of 200 personnel around the court premises.

PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif among other party leaders also arrived at the court to express solidarity with Nawaz.

In Avenfield reference, the supremo was awarded 11-year jail sentence while his political heir-apparent Maryam Nawaz was awarded seven-year jail sentence and son-in-law Capt (rtd) Safdar one-year.
