ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Caretaker Information Minister Barrister Ali Zafar said on Wednesday that summary to convene the National Assembly meeting between August 12-14 has been sent.

Speaking to media in Islamabad, Zafar told that newly-elected Members of Natioanl Assembly (MNA) will take oath in the meeting following which speaker, deputy speaker and Leader of Opposition will be chosen.

“Political statements regarding rigging in elections are being given. The ECP has adopted stance that faults in RTS system caused the problems. An inquiry committee has been formed to probe the matter,” he asserted.

Zafar went on to say that the as elections are over the focus should be on the future. “ The new government has a five-year mandate and should be allowed to function. The constituencies where recount is necessary under law should be given a fair chance. Imran Khan has also approved this step. It will remove the concerns regarding ECP."

Commenting on looming power crisis in the country, he said, “The solution to loadshedding is not even avaialable during a year. Some difficult and serious decisions have to be taken to control the power outages. The advise of experts should aslo be sought in this regard.”
