Avenfield reference: Caretaker government fails to implement London flats' confiscation order
Sources say that the new government will implement the order of the court.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The caretaker government failed to implement the order of accountability court to confiscate the London flats of ousted premier Nawaz Sharif in Avenfield reference case.
Despite the paasge of three weeks, no directions related to the seizure of property has been provided to the interior ministry.
The federal government was directed by the court to seize all the four apartment of Avenfield flat under section-10 of NAB ordinance.
Sources say that the new government will implement the order of the court.
Sharif along with his political heir-apparent Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Safdar are serving 10-year, 7-year and 1-year jail sentences in Adiala Jail in Avenfield reference case. The reference was filed by NAB on directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan in Panama Papers case.
Thr trio has submitted appeals in Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the Avenfield reference verdict.
The petitioners have requested the court to annul the decision pertaining to their imprisonment, fine, disqualification and forfeiture of property.
All the three accused should be released on bail till the final verdict and their conviction be suspended temporarily, it added.
