Shehbaz Sharif-led PML-N has now two less seats in Punjab Assembly.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In a major blow to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) efforts to amass majority in Punjab, another three independent members of provincial assembly (MPAs) joined ranks of Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

As per details garnered, Pir Saeedul Hassan—who won from Narowal s PP-46—called on Imran Khan at his residence in Bani Gala and put his weight behind PTI for change. Likewise, PP-7’s winning candidate Raja Saghir also joined PTI.

Fawad Chaudhry claimed that PTI’s seats in Punjab Assembly have soared to 131 with the inclusion of aforementioned independent candidates. He added that PTI has now obtained majority in the Punjab Assembly, leaving PML-N behind. Fawad added, “PTI will soon start process of forming government in Punjab”.

Fawad revealed that several independent lawmakers would also join ranks of PTI by evening today.

With two new inclusions, PTI has left PML-N behind. Shehbaz Sharif-led party now has 129 seats in the Punjab.

On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Pervez Elahi will meet Khan at his Bani Gala’s residence today and is likely to announce support for PTI. Elahi’s party has won three seats in NA and six in Punjab.
