PML-Q is on fourth spot in Punjab.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – In a major blow to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) efforts aimed at forming government in Punjab, four more independent lawmakers have joined ranks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

As per details garnered, four independent lawmakers including Kabirwala’s Hussain Gardezi, Layyah’s Syed Rafaqat Hussain Shah and Bashir Randhawa and D.G. Khan’s Hameed Pitafi have joined PTI, strengthening position of cricket-turned-politician Imran Khan’s party in Punjab.

At present, PML-N leads battleground of Punjab with 129 seats followed by PTI with 123 seats. To form government, a party needs support of 149 lawmakers.

Independent candidates—with 29 seats in the provincial assembly—remain vital for both parties to form government. PML-Q is on fourth spot with seven lawmakers while Bilawal-led Pakistan Peoples Party has won just six seats and is on fifth support.

Earlier today, two independent Members of National Assembly (MNA) and seven Members of Provincial Assembly (MPA) joined Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday.

The MNAs gained success from Muzaffargarh and will announce their inclusion after meeting PTI chairman Imran Khan today.

Independent MPA Khurram Sohail Leghari from PP-275, Alamdar Qureshi from PP-277 and Basit Sultan Bukhari from PP-272 and NA-185 will also join PTI.
