Summary The Karachi Electric Supply Company has announced 9 hours of loadshedding for residential and commercial areas in Karachi.
KESC has decided to increase the loadshedding duration with the justification that the required quantity of gas was not provided by Sui Southern, whereas, no agreement was found between KESC and Sui Southern.According to KESC Spokesperson, despite the beginning of summer season, KESC was being supplied only 150 MMCF gas which was not sufficient to produce electricity to meet the demand.The spokesperson concluded that the loadshedding duration would be increased up to 9 hours in those areas where it was already continuing up to 4 and half hours.
