The doctors advise ex-PM to spend time with his wife
LONDON (Dunya News) – As the condition of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz is still on ventilator even after four days, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz delayed their return to Pakistan after meeting the doctors.
The condition of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz being treated in Harley Street Hospital is still serious and she is still on the ventilator even after four days, while the decision whether to remove her life support or not will be taken tomorrow.
In her latest tweet, Maryam Nawaz again appealed the nation to pray for her mother’s quick recovery.
According to Dunya News sources, the return of Sharif family is conditional with the health of former first lady.
Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz held a meeting with the doctors of Kulsoom Nawaz for two hours and delayed their return with mutual consent.
The doctors also advised ex-PM to spend time with his wife.
Hussain Nawaz, son of ex-PM also confirmed that the condition of his mother is very serious adding that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were not leaving for Pakistan.
Sources said that owing to the serious condition of Kulsoom Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz will not appear before the court on June 19 and would file petition seeking exemption from appearance.
The former first lady’s latest report along with doctor’s letter would also be submitted in the court.
Talking to media after inquiring about the health of his wife, Nawaz Sharif appealed the nation to pray for his wife as only prayers can do miracle.
He said that he couldn’t talk to Kulsoom Nawaz as she was didn’t regain consciousness since he reached London and she has been on ventilator for the last four days.
On the other hand, PTI chairman Imran Khan has sent a bouquet for Kulsoom Nawaz.
The bouquet was handed over by PTI leader Mian Qaheedur Rehman and also conveyed the message of Imran Khan to the Sharif family.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who is on a private visit to London had also sent flower bouquet to ailing Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in hospital, wishing her early recovery.
Previously, the health of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz had deteriorated following a cardiac arrest at a hospital in London, where she was undergoing treatment following throat cancer surgery.
The former first woman suffered cardiac arrest and fell unconscious after suffering large pulmonary embolism.
On Wednesday, she was readmitted to the London’s Harley Street Clinic after her condition deteriorated, due to which she was taken to the emergency unit where she was being constantly monitored.
In 2017, Kulsoom Nawaz was diagnosed with throat cancer after which she was undergoing treatment in London.
