CJP takes suo motu notice over non issuance of CNICs to transgenders

Summary Notices have been issued to Punjab Chief Secretary and other concerned officials

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has taken suo motu notice over non issuance of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) to the transgenders.

The chief justice will hear the case tomorrow in the Lahore registry.

Notices have been issued to Punjab Chief Secretary and other concerned officials.

On Saturday on Eid day, transgenders briefed the CJP about non-issuance of CNICs to them during his visit of to Fountain House Lahore.

Akhwat Foundation’s Dr Amjad Saqib and Punjab Chief Secretary have also been issued notice for personal appearance.
