Imran Khan, Asif Zardari, Khursheed Shah and others pray for her early recovery

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and leaders of different political parties on Friday prayed for the early recovery of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, who is critical condition in a London after suffering cardiac arrest.

As soon as the news broke, prayers from political leaders and COAS Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa started to pour in for swift recovery of the former first lady.

In a message to ex-PM Nawaz Sharif and his family, the Army Chief prayed for early recovery of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz and expressed good wishes for her.

In his twitter message, PTI chairman Imran Khan said all our prayers are with Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. May Allah grant her ‘Shifa e Kamila’.

The leaders of PML-Q Chudhary Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhary Pervez Elahi have also prayed for early recovery and safe return of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz to the country.

Former President and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and former leader of the opposition, Khursheed Shah have shown their concerns and prayed for the speedy recovery of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz.

Chairman Senate, Sadiq Sanjrani also prayed for the speedy recovery of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.

Earlier, the Sharif family including Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif had appealed the nation for his mother.

Maryam Nawaz took to the twitter and requested prayers for her mother and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s wife Kulsoom Nawaz as she has been put on ventilator.

She said: “Ami had a sudden cardiac arrest this morning when we were on the flight & is in ICU & on the ventilator since. Earnest request for duas.”

Shehbaz Sharif said on twitter that Begum Kulsoom had collapsed in the ICU and not regained consciousness since.

In 2017, Kulsoom Nawaz was diagnosed with throat cancer after which she was undergoing treatment in London.
