PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - TransPeshawar – the Urban Mobility Company – that is to run the Bus Rapid Transit in Peshawar, on Saturday witnessed another crisis as Project Chairman Javed Iqbal tendered resignation, reported Dunya News.



The much-delayed project—being considered as crown jewel of Pervez Khattak-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government—is slated to be launched on May-20.

As per details garnered, the events unfolded bitterly following removal of chief executive officer of the company by KPK CM Pervez Khattak. To register protest against CM’s decision, the chairman of board of directors, chief financial officer and general manager operations and market development also tendered their resignations on Friday.

In the onset, the KPK government announced to complete the ambitious project in span of six months. But proceedings didn’t go smoothly owing to incessant changes in design and technical glitches ensuing delay in the project.

Initially, the project was to be inaugurated on April-20 but the date was extended to May-15 owing to administration and technical delays. Later, the date was extended to May-20, though much of the civil work on project remains unfinished.
