ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): Lawmakers at the Lower House on Wednesday broke into laughter over the offhand remarks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari.

During the session of the National Assembly, Mazari used the word “yar” (a world used in informal conversation between friends in Urdu language) while referring to National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq following which there were gales of laughter all around in the assembly.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Sheikh Salahuddin drew the attention of the House towards the colloquial remarks of the PTI’s leader and asked the speaker to omit the word. To which, Sadiq advised Mazari not to use the same word again in front of others.

Mazari said that she could use the word “yar” for Asad Umar and Shafqat Mehmood and not for him.

Upon which, Sadiq said, “I consider you as my elder sister and resects you a lot.” However, Mazari objected to being called as the elder sister. Sadiq said that he had seen the age of Mazari on her identity card and that was why he called her as his elder sister. “If it doesn’t suit you, you can become my younger sister.”
