No need for parliament, depute everything to CJP: Nawaz Sharif
Nawaz Sharif has suggested to close down parliament and depute everything to CJP.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has suggested that the Parliament be closed down and everything deputed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan. He said that the CJP is busy in checking the quality of milk while litigants have been waiting for generations for the solution of their pending cases.
He also termed the recent Senate elections suspicious and the Chairman Senate a shifty person. He said he does not know the inside story but what former President Asif Zardari is up to is shameful.
Talking to media outside NAB court after hearing in corruption cases, PML (N) leader said that the country was given in the hands of martial laws and military dictators after freeing it from the yoke of the British.
“Doctrine of necessity will not be accepted anymore.” he said.
“There is no need for parliament or the executive as everything is being taken over by unelected forces.”
About the meeting between the PM and CJP, he said that he would meet the PM and inquire about it and let everyone know.
Commenting on the Senate elections, he said that this was the result of backdoor maneuvering by Asif Zardari and Imran Khan that the government in Balochistan was changed and loyalties were bought and sold for the Senate elections. He termed the whole episode shameful.
Upon being asked about the recent upsurge of load shedding, he said many megawatts of electricity were added to the national grid in his tenure.
“I would try to inquire from the government the reason for recent load shedding. Whether it is non-payment to some company or some other reason, I would try to know,” he said.
He said that he was not allowed to go to London to hold decisive meetings with doctors regarding his wife’s health. When a journalist asked why he did not go when he had five days off from hearings, he replied that the journey alone would have taken two days and the rest of days fell on weekend when the doctors do not work.
