(Dunya News) – As temperatures across the country rise, people are making their way to the mountainous regions to beat the heat.
Famously known as heaven on earth, Azad Kashmir’s beautiful mountains and pleasant weather attract hundreds of visitors every year during the summers.
AJK’s capital Muzzaffarabad is one of those hot touristy spots which are in great demand as mercury rises across the country. Besides the cool weather, people get to enjoy the beauty of the region.

Famous for its Neelum River, this region is packed with nature’s scenic beauty. Apart from the river Peer Chinasi, which is at an altitude of 2,924 metres above the sea, the region is rich in attractive sights of the velvety green mountains.

“There is a certain area where rivers Jhelum and Neelum merge and you can clearly see the brown coloured river Jhelum meeting the blue coloured Neelum,” said one of the tourists.
