(Web Desk) – Protest staged by lady health workers in Lahore entered its second day on Tuesday as a large number of protestors demanded a revise in service structure and payment of outstanding dues.
The protest which was staged at Charing Cross later turned into a sit-in as protestors chanted slogans and blocked traffic. One of the protestors was shifted to the hospital on Monday after she fell unconscious.
Commuters were troubled by the protest which continued late into the night on Monday and Tuesday blocking roads connecting to Mall Road. Protestors say they will continue the sit-in till their demands are met. Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed also made way to the sit-in on Tuesday to express solidarity with the protesting lady health workers.
