PTI submits adjournment motion in NA over alleged corruption of Khawaja Asif
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf asked lower house to probe corruption of Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday moved an adjournment motion in National Assembly (NA) over the alleged corruption of Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif.
The motion was submitted by PTI MNA Murad Saeed. It asked the lower house to launch investigation into the allegations of corruption and money laundering on Asif.
The PTI leadership conveyed that there is undeniable evidence against Asif whereas record is available which proves Asif transferred millions into foreign bank accounts through.
The adjournment motion said Asif admitted to have been employed by foreign company and holds Iqama (UAE work permit. Asif should not hold office since he committed irregularities and holds Iqama, the motion said.
Yesterday, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal ordered investigation into allegations of money laundering against Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif. In a press release issued by the NAB, it said NAB chairman ordered probe into foreign minister’s alleged money laundering, acknowledging the complaints received by the anti-graft body.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had earlier questioned NAB s inaction against Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif despite presence of ‘undeniable evidence’ against him.
