Summary Nawaz Sharif suggested Raza Rabbani for Chairman Senate.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Nawaz Sharif calling for reforms to check alleged trading of Senate votes, suggested Raza Rabbani’s name for Chairman Senate.
Talking to media, Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N is having majority in the Upper House, hence bringing Chairman for the house from its ranks is its right. He said that he is in talks with Mehmood Achakzai, Hasil Bizenjo and Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman for the leadership of the august house.
He condemned the commercialization of democracy and revealed that horse-trading for Senate had started some three months ago.
PML-N bagged 15 seats in the recent Senate elections. To be elected as Chairman, a Senator needs 53 votes from the House.
