Chairman NAB seeks record of all under-investigation cases

Summary Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal chaired a high-level meeting at the NAB headquarters on Tuesday.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has asked all director generals (DGs) to submit record of all inquiries, complaints and under-investigation cases.

Javed Iqbal chaired a high-level meeting at the NAB headquarters on Tuesday. During his address, Javed Iqbal said that from now on the investigations and inquiries of NAB will not finish up in files and cupboards.

The chairman NAB directed all the DGs to submit record of all inquiries, complaints and under-investigation cases and also asked them to seek explanation from the officials who failed to complete investigation within the stipulated period.

Earlier on Monday, the NAB executive board meeting had approved inquiries and investigations into alleged malpractices by noted politicians and other individuals.

The NAB’s executive board gave approval to Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment supplementary references against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. The supplementary references had already been filed in the accountability court.

The meeting also approved to initiate investigation against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for allegedly using Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government helicopter.

According to a NAB spokesperson, the board also gave approval to start inquiry against Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for allegedly transferring suspected funds.

The NAB’s executive board also approved to initiate investigation against Ahad Cheema, administration of Paragon City. The board also approved to start an inquiry against PPP Senator Usman Saifullah.

The Board also gave approval to start investigation against former finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Anusha Rehman, chairman PTA Dr Ismail, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak and chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
