ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former Prime Minister and the former head of Nawaz faction of Pakistan Muslim League (PML), Nawaz Sharif has promised to get people what they have longed for for 70 years.
Speaking at the meeting of PML-N Central Executive Committee (CEC) to elect a new head of the party, former party head said that the cases against them are being pursued by NAB at the behest of judges who took oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order and did dictators’ bidding. He said that not a single-penny corruption has been proven against him in the last six months. He also advised the people to stand with truth as that pleases Allah.
Moreover, promising to get the people of Pakistan what has always been denied them, he vowed to end the spree of sending elected representatives home through narrow technicalities of law and doctrine of necessity-like measures. He claimed that the whole democracy-loving nation stands with him in putting an end to falsehood.
At the convention, Nawaz’s brother Shahbaz Sharif has been elected as the caretaker head of the party.
