Claimant party thrashes suspect in Lahore sessions court premises

Summary Police personnel of the sessions court failed to arrest any member of both the parties.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore sessions court witnessed another brawl on Tuesday as the claimant party thrashed the suspect on the premises.

The suspect named Arshad had came to the court for hearing of aerial firing case registered against him. No police personnel were present during the public torture of claimant party on the suspect.

Meanwhile, the lawyers came to the rescue of Arshad and saved him from the beating. The suspect had come to the court for the approval of his bail plea.

Police personnel of the sessions court failed to arrest any member of both the parties. 

Session judge Abid Hussain Qureshi rebuked the policemen over the negligence and failure to arrest those involved in the fight. "Leave the job if you can’t fulfill your duty. It is the police’s responsibility to provide protectiuon to the civilians. Prompt action should be taken against anyone who taks law into his own hands," he said.

This is the third such incident in the sessions court this year. A week ago, two lawyers were shot dead by another lawyer following a clash between them at Lahore sessions court.

According to details, the lawyers engaged into a fight over a longstanding property dispute. One of them resorted to firing and killed two others. The suspect identified as Kashif Rajput was immediately taken into custody by the police.

One of the victims died on the spot while the other succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

On January 31, a murder accused and a police officer were gunned down as two groups resorted to firing in the premises of session court.

The recent incident has once again exposed the poor security arrangements and safety lapses in the court.
