(Dunya News) – Karachi’s famous Mukka Chowk, which has now been renamed to Liaquat Ali Khan Chowk, has become a victim of vandalism by ‘na maloom afraad’.
The famous chowk in Karachi’s Azizabad locality, recently renamed after Pakistan’s first Prime Minister, has been defaced following revamping that, for a brief period, had given a new look to the roundabout.

Pictures of Liaquat Ali Khan that had been installed atop the chowk have been defaced just few months into the installation. At some places, even the name inscription on the roundabout has been removed. Residents have also expressed their dismay over the lack of concern by both the authorities and the public at large.

Another disappointing aspect of the entire situation is while several political parties have hoisted their flags and banners at the roundabout, they have failed to honour and respect one of the founding fathers and a democratic leader of the country, very much like the government itself.
